Following the Serve God Serve One Another celebration on 9 October 2022, the Worship & Music Ministry is organising a variety of short workshops to help church members to DISCOVER your interests, LEARN a skill, and BLESS others with it. Over 3 short sessions, these workshops will consist of an introduction to the field, as well as provide participants with a hands-on opportunity to try out the field, and learn something (basic) that can help them to bless others with it.
For this year, we have put together a total of 8 exciting workshops (listed below), and they will be held concurrently (like a school) over 3 Saturday mornings on 12 & 19 November and 3 December, from 9.30am to 12pm, in Church.

list of workshops
(1) Audio 101 (Lead trainer – Nathanael Kon)
Participants will be equipped with the vocabulary, tools, and framework to better understand the music and sounds they hear in their daily lives. They will also be able to try their hand at mixing a multi-track recording of a worship band, and a sermon. Wow! How cool is that! 😊
(2) Cajon 101 (Lead trainer – Michael Lim)*
Participants will understand the basics in playing the cajon, and will be able to play along with songs of simple time signature.
(3) Floral Arrangements 101 (Lead trainer – Irene Wong)
Participants will learn an appreciation of flowers, looking at colour combinations, how to trim them and how to use the containers effectively. Participants will also be able to try out a simple arrangement for home or as a gift to bless someone.
(4) Flute 101 (Lead trainer – Loraine Ong)*
Participants will be orientated to the flute instrument, and able to play the verse of a simple hymn in C Major.
(5) Guitar 101 (Lead trainer – Louis Loke)*
Participants will be oriented to the guitar instrument, and able to play a basic chord progression on the guitar, possibly the Happy Birthday song. Good opportunity to surprise your loved one if his/her birthday is coming up!
(6) Prayer 101 (Lead trainer – Fong Lin)
Participants will be empowered to pray with one another, to discover creative ways of Prayer, to build & strengthen their prayer muscles.
(7) Ukulele 101 (Lead trainer – Shenton Sng)*
Participants will learn five basic chords (C F G Am Dm) and be able to play up to seven songs for individual and small group worship. Wow! That’s a great way to spend 3 Saturday mornings! 😊
(8) Videography 101 (Lead trainer – Paul Goh)
Participants will learn an introduction to the basics of videography. Participants will also have hands-on opportunities and you can expect to have lots of fun (on top of learning stuff)!
