God calls. God is calling us at AMKMC to return to AMK HUB as a strategic outreach point to the rest of the AMK town. In the 3 months of prayer and seeking God’s presence and guidance, God has made it abundantly clear that Jesus (His Presence) must be at the centre of it all. As John 12:32 declares, when Jesus is lifted up from the earth, He will draw all people to Himself.
As we have learnt from our To-Gather conference, we are gathering to receive and reveal Christ at AMK Hub, and all of us are called by God to partner in His Kingdom purposes. One early revelation through prayer is that God will release healing streams at AMK HUB, hence healing ministry will feature prominently. Lest we forget, 1/3 of Jesus’ earthly ministry centred upon healing. And so, a tangible expression of God’s presence is in His healing work.
Two Bible passages come to the fore:
(1) In John 15:14, Jesus calls us his friends if we do what He commands. God’s call for AMKMC to return to AMK HUB is an invitation for us to obey;
(2) In Mark 2:1–12, four men bring their paralysed friend to Jesus for healing and salvation. It is our prayer and hope that Friends@HUB brings healing and salvation to our friends.
In addition, 6 groups of people have surfaced as people whom God has His eye on: families with young children, seniors/elderly, migrant workers, delivery workers/private hire drivers, businesses/workers at AMK Hub area and bus drivers.
However, before we eventually get there, we need a consistent and sizeable group of dedicated co-labourers aka “Kingdom Partners”. Here is the part where we’re hoping YOU can come in!
There are two ways in which you may join us as a Kingdom Partner:
(i) By bringing pre-believing friends and family to Friends@HUB, and/or
(ii) By participating in areas of service at Friends@HUB:
Able to commit at least 3 weeks per month until Dec 2022
Willing to walk by faith and not by sight
Hungry for God’s Presence & His glory
Desire to advance God’s kingdom, and willing to share about your Christian journey
Have a cheerful and friendly disposition
Have a humble and open heart to serve & help wherever God leads
As a Friends@HUB Kingdom Partner, you may be assigned various roles and tasks that include welcoming visitors, facilitating the activities, or assisting with logistics. Simple training will be provided, but the tasks are deliberately kept simple to focus more on relating. Friends@HUB will take place every Sunday from 10am to 11.30am thereabout, hence it’s best to be available from 9.30am to 12pm.
There are basically four main areas of service, and each area is intentionally kept simple so that everyone can easily participate.
There will still be Word and Worship taking place at Friends@HUB. You may still worship there in place of the worship services at AMKMC. Alternatively, you may consider attending the 8am or 5pm worship services at AMKMC in addition to your service at Friends@HUB.
We need to understand that new ventures and moves of God will always need those who are willing to leave familiar routines and pioneer for a period until we get a momentum going.
Inviting the cell groups to invest in this new kingdom move at the Hub will also be a good thing to do. It will also be a good spiritual pulse check for us all. Remember, this is at heart a spiritual move. All this will take risk, time, strength and long suffering and dependance on Holy Spirit.
If you didn’t know, the pioneers of AMKMC at early Mayflower Estate used to come after their church services (Wesley MC) to pioneer the church here at AMKMC (hence we started with 5pm service). We have a rich legacy from our past. Let’s emulate them.
Trust that if God calls you, He will equip you. God doesn’t call the qualified; God qualifies the called. On our part, we will make the best effort to guide and train you too. Do leave your worries behind, and just sign-up with an open heart and mind.
Yes, definitely! If you can commit and have a heart to serve, we are more than happy to have you onboard. Your journey experience and fresh perspective as a new Christian/believer may be beneficial to pre-believers.
